The “Safety Egg” Photoeye (BS-IR30) does not have a built in timed relay. This means that the photoeye needs to be paired with a “nucleus” device listed on PanicExitPro.com. This is a simple and cost effective way of adding hands-free convenience to exiting a property.

The Safety Egg photoeye can be powered with either 12v or 24v DC power sources. PanicExitPro.com carries compatible 12v DC powering options: Sentry E. Labs Transformer or Sentry E. Labs Transformer with Battery backup.

Because this photoeye does not have a built-in timed relay, it needs to paired with a “nucleus” device that has a built in timed relay. The “Safety Egg” can also be used with the automatic door opener to add an additional level of safety to prevent accidental door closures on people passing through the door. This photoeye can also be used to trigger the “nucleus” device to unlock the door. The “Safety Egg” photoeye is compatible with all “nucleus devices listed on PanicExitPro.com. A few of them are:

• Proximity card reader
• GSM intercom
• Timed Relay

The “Safety Egg” photoeye emits a invisible beam of light, that when disturbed will trigger a relay. This signal will travel to the “nucleus” which will then unlock the door.
